The Rotary Club of Las Cruces Rio Grande Club (#1310) is an active group of men and women who meet at 11:45 a.m. every Tuesday year round at the Best Western Mesilla Valley Inn in Las Cruces, New  Mexico. Click here to read about our club history.
We are a growing club (currently more than 70 members) who enjoy each other's company and participate enthusiastically in club business. We publish an award-winning monthly newsletter, the Rio Report, and look forward each week to invited speakers who share information about Rotary and many local, state, national and international topics. We encourage members to take active roles in club leadership and in service projects that benefit our community and the world.. We also sponsor social activities and offer opportunities for members to volunteer their services. We are committed to Rotary's 4-Way Test and the Object of Rotary.
SERVICE ABOVE SELF:
The club conducts several fund raising activities each year to support a variety of service projects:
- We support the District Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) program which sends local juniors and seniors to leadership camp near Mountainair, NM each summer.
- For over 15 years Rio Grande Rotary has run a huge Yard Sale benefiting Mesilla Valley Hospice. Proceeds average about $15,000.00 annually.
- We support Dress-A-Child every November and hold an annual Silent Auction to raise funds for it. Proceeds average about $12,000.00 annually.
- We sponsor a Student Rotarian of the Month program from September to May through which outstanding seniors from four local high schools attend weekly meetings as guests of Rio Grande Rotary, enabling us to meet the leaders of tomorrow.
- We have an ongoing international matching grant projects with several Rotary clubs in District 4110 in Northern Mexico.
- We support The Rotary Foundation annually with an average giving that exceeds $15,000.00.
We do all of this and more while having "FUN"!
